An exploration of mindfulness and mindful self care, offering space where we are SIMPLY FREE TO BE.
MINDFULNESS: Mindfulness is paying attention to whatever is arising in the present moment and simply noticing it with compassion and without judgement.
MINDFUL SELF CARE: Mindful self-care is pausing and tuning in to what your body, mind, and spirit need in this moment. It’s about being open and exploring new practices while mindfully observing how your nervous system responds. This approach to self-care differs from consumerism. Mindful self care incorporates daily routines, rituals and practices while also exploring community support and resources.
SERVICES
Mindfulness Classes + Mindful Self Care Workshops, Day Retreats, and Social Opportunities:
Offering mindfulness classes and mindful self-care programs tailored for individuals, peer groups, and organizations in the Western Suburbs of Chicago.
In our classes, I guide you through the foundations of mindfulness and provide practices that help you connect with the present moment with ease and curiosity. I’ll show you how to build a personal, accessible practice you can incorporate into your daily life. Our communal practice sessions also enhance your individual journey, transforming it into a beautiful shared experience.
Beyond structured lessons, our playful and supportive community hosts regular events. These gatherings are designed to connect like-minded individuals, encourage shared experiences, and cultivate a sense of belonging. Through wellness workshops, communal events, and themed discussions, we practice mindful self care while also strengthening connections.
My goal is to help you explore and create a mindfulness practice that you love returning to–a space within you that feels like home, where you are Simply Free To Be.
ABOUT ME
I’m Mary Megan, a Certified Mindfulness Instructor (CMI) through Mindful Schools’ 350-hour certification program, completed in 2021. I’m also a certified elementary and middle school teacher and am currently completing my 250-hour yoga teacher training with Prairie Yoga.
I love walks in the woods, family game nights, and supporting local theater, music + the arts. I savor my morning tea time, giggling with my girlfriends, and being with my husband, kids + family. My golden retriever and I are active volunteers with the PAWsitive pet therapy program, visiting schools and libraries in our community. Family life and life in general regularly present me with *opportunities* to practice mindfulness. I am eternally a work-in-progress, forever a student, and grateful for the lessons I am learning.
I enjoy serving as a guide to both youth and adults as they playfully explore how their nervous systems respond to mindfulness and mindful self-care. I would love to help you explore how mindfulness and mindful self care can help you connect with yourself, with others, with this moment, and with Spirit.
